WHITEHALL PUBLIC LIBRARY FALL FUNDRAISERS

Building Event Identities Through Storytelling & Community Engagement

A collection of branding and promotional work created for the Whitehall Public Library’s annual fall fundraising events. These projects focused on developing immersive visual identities that helped shape the atmosphere, theme, and audience experience surrounding each event through logo design, photography, and creative direction support.

WHITEHALL WINE & WIN

2025 Fall Fundraiser

Overview

Created during my time as the Marketing & Communications Coordinator for the Whitehall Public Library, Whitehall Wine & Win was a fundraising event inspired by classic television game shows and retro entertainment aesthetics. The project focused on creating an energetic and playful visual identity that captured the excitement and nostalgia of vintage game show culture while remaining approachable for community audiences.

Although event planning and logistics were managed by the library board, I was responsible for developing the event branding, assisting with event setup, and photographing the fundraiser during the event itself.

My Role

  • Logo & Visual Identity Design

  • Creative Theme Development

  • Event Photography

  • Event Setup Assistance

  • Promotional Visual Support

Design Direction

The visual identity drew heavily from retro game show aesthetics, incorporating:

  • marquee-inspired lighting

  • bold typography

  • warm neon-inspired gradients

  • playful casino/game-show iconography

  • layered dimensional effects

The final design was intended to feel vibrant, energetic, and immediately recognizable within promotional materials and event signage.

1920s MURDER MYSTERY: MURDER IN THE STACKS

2026 Fall Fundraiser

Overview

Murder in the Stacks is the upcoming 2026 Whitehall Public Library fall fundraiser, developed in collaboration with local theatre group San Serif. Inspired by 1920s noir films, mystery novels, and Art Deco design, the event centers around an immersive murder mystery experience set within the library environment.

As a current board member for the Whitehall Public Library, I created the visual identity and branding direction for the event while also contributing to ongoing creative brainstorming surrounding the event experience and promotional materials. Additional photography and collateral design will continue to be developed as the event approaches.

My Role

  • Logo & Visual Identity Design

  • Creative Concept Development

  • Event Branding

  • Photography (Upcoming)

  • Promotional Material Design (Upcoming)

  • Creative Brainstorming & Direction

Design Direction

The branding for Murder in the Stacks combines:

  • Art Deco-inspired typography

  • vintage noir aesthetics

  • layered geometric framing

  • theatrical silhouettes

  • mystery-inspired visual storytelling

  • muted gold and emerald tones

Multiple logo explorations were created to refine the final direction and balance readability, atmosphere, and historical inspiration. The final selected identity was designed to feel immersive, dramatic, and cinematic while still functioning effectively across print and digital promotional materials.

REFLECTION

These fundraising projects allowed me to explore how branding can help shape the tone and atmosphere of community-centered events through visual storytelling. From playful retro-inspired entertainment branding to immersive narrative-driven identities, each project focused on creating engaging experiences that encouraged participation, strengthened community connection, and supported the library through creative visual communication.
